DAY 1: NANTES
The Eurostar from St Pancras departs at 08.31, if there’s not time to reach London if you live outside the capital, why not spoil yourself staying at the 5* St Pancras Renaissance, the restored adjoining railway hotel in all its gothic splendour. After an hour and a half on the Eurostar train, you change stations at Paris (private transfer) to the equally high speed French TGV getting you to Nantes just after 4pm. Here a coach will pick you up for the short transfer to your Croisi cruise ship
Boarding in Nantes between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. Crew presentation and welcome drink. Dinner on board.
DAY 2: SAINT-NAZAIRE - NANTES
Full board on board. Optional excursion to Saint-Nazaire, a city by the sea. The Escal'Atlantic which ingeniously retraces the history of Norman and French ocean liners through a unique experience, then the Saint-Nazaire shipyard (this excursion must be pre-booked in advance through your travel agent. Each passenger will be asked to produce a valid passport or identity card in order to gain access to the shipyard).
Or optional guided visit of Guérande, medieval city surrounded by ramparts overlooking the salt marshes. Afternoon spent cruising to Nantes. In the evening, optional cruise on what King Francois Ist called the “most beautiful river in France”: The Erdre and evening of entertainment. Overnight.
DAY 3: NANTES - ANCENIS
Optional tour of Nantes (you must reserve this excursion before your departure through your travel agent), the city of the Dukes of Brittany, and the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany. Afternoon spent cruising to Ancenis, arriving during the evening. Evening of entertainment. Overnight.
DAY 4: ANCENIS - BOUCHEMAINE
Full board on board. Optional excursion to the Muscadet region. Passing through many villages reflecting the strong identity of the wine region. Cruise to Angers, arriving early in the evening. Entertainment provided by the crew. Overnight.
DAY 5: BOUCHEMAINE - Angers
Full board on board. Optional tour of the town of Angers. Capital of the historical Anjou province, it is distinguished not only by its legacy, but also by its modern nature. In the afternoon, optional visit of the Cadre Noir(1), listed of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as a school of horseback unique in France, and the city of Saumur (you must reserve this excursion before your departure through your travel agent). Evening of dancing. Overnight.
DAY 6: BOUCHEMAINE - The Loire Châteaux
Full board. Full day's excursion to the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. The Château Azay-le-Rideau, built on an island in the Indre River, the lovely gardens surrounding the Villandry Château (outside), and Ussé Château with fortified towers, which have inspired Charles Perrault "The sleeping Beauty". Evening of entertainment. Overnight
DAY 7: BOUCHEMAINE - ANCENIS - NANTES
Full board on board. Optional excursion along the Angevine Corniche, with its picturesque villages and several viewpoints along the Loire. Afternoon spent cruising to Nantes. Along the Loire's banks you'll admire the landscape which has been shaped by the river over the centuries. Gala evening. Overnight.
DAY 8: NANTES
Buffet breakfast on board. Disembark around 10:00 a.m.
Returning from Nantes, you will be transferred by coach to the railway station for the 10.04 departure taking 4 hours to Lille. Here we change platforms and pass through UK passport and immigration for our return leg by Eurostar back to London at 4.05 pm. It’s useful to know that the Eurostar also stops at the Ebbsfleet close to the M25 with plenty of easy parking!
