  • Day 1-2 Travel by morning Eurostar high speed train London to Paris, change to the comfortable Double Decker TGV passing scenic Rhone valley villages to Barcelona evening arrival. A café bar is available on both trains offering drinks and light refreshments. Stay overnight at the friendly 3*  Abbot hotel opposite Barcelona station.
  • Day 2 High speed morning AVE service for the 5 1/2 journey to Seville. Stay 3 nights at the 4*  hotel Casas de la Juderia a series of restored Andalucian courtyard connected by underground passages or 3* hotel Derby both in the heart of the city. The new train station in Seville is a short taxi ride from the old city centre.
  • Day 2-4 Stay in Seville, said by legend, to be founded by Hercules, crammed with magnificent churches, convents, monuments and Moorish palaces. Although compact enough to discover on foot, you could take a horse drawn carriage route along traffic free streets. Later try one of the many Tapas bars and experience the buzzing nightlife.
  • Day 5-6 Take the short train ride to Cordoba (about 1 hour). Stay for two nights in Cordoba at the 4* Conquistador or 3*  Tryp Los Gallos ; visit the “Mesquita or Great Mosque with more than 850 coloured jasper and marble pillars, the cool interior, which is lit by occasional shafts of sunlight, is breathtaking. In 11th Century Cordoba was one of the most important cities in Europe. People of different cultures and religions lived harmoniously together.
  • Day 7-8 Travel two and a half hours by train to Granada across the verdant countryside of Andalusia for a two night stay at 4*  Alixares by Alhambra entrance or 3*  Dauro II. One of the highlights of your trip must be a visit to the Alhambra Palace a jewel of architecture. The Palace was built in the 14th Century and includes palaces, gardens and fountains all gathered under the Sierra Nevada and overlooking the fertile plains of Granada. So many words have been written but none can adequately describe the magnificence of this grand site.
  • Day 9 With your train holiday to Spain nearing an end, take the day train to beautiful Barcelona for a short overnight stay at the nearby Abbot hotel.
  • Day 10  Take the high speed TGV to Paris, onwards by Eurostar arriving back in London by 8pm.
